Adios!

Yes, my friends, I said Adios! As it turns out, that means goodbye in Chamorro (native Guamanian language) as well as in Spanish. See, I can already speak Chamorro! Too bad hello isn't hola...but close - it's "hafa adai"!

Anyhoo, enough of the language lessons. I'm off tomorrow morning for my adventures on a ship (M/V Kahana) for 3 1/2 months! I fly out of Seattle - through Hawaii - and end in Guam. I'll be participating in a research cruise for the Navy to survey 200,000 square miles (or so...) around Guam and Mariana Islands for marine mammals and sea turtles. Most of my time will be spent on the ship with about 20 of my soon-to-be closest friends, but we do have 4 port calls in Guam. Thus, I can explore the island a bit and... (drum roll please!)... update my blog! So, check back every 20 days or so for some nice tropical pictures and stories of my adventures.

In the meantime, hope you all are having fun and stay in touch!

Beth,
Yeah! Enjoy your adventures! Can't wait to hear all your stories when you update the blog during your port calls. Will miss seeing you these next several months on my visits to Santa Cruz. Enjoy!
